      Objectives:
      Learn how to tie together case study material
      Learn how to review a case study on a number of levels
      Continue reviewing student preliminary case studies
      Submit the first draft case study by December 4
      This week we will review the case study on the Degradation of a Main Combustion chamber on a Space Shuttle Main Engine. It is a case in failure analysis. It would be instructive to review some of the links listed in the last week. They link to the Failure Analysis Associates home page.




      Reading Assignment:
      ASM pages 96 -104 and 131 - 146
      Earlier web page notes on preparation and presentation of case studies



      Discussion Questions:
      How does one integrate earlier written portion of their case with the later information
      When and how are students going to complete their case studies
      How are the techniques of Failure analysis used in case studies?



      Lecture topics:
       
      Monday Eric Billings : Review Case Study Logistics, use of contacts
      Wednesday Review case study on Combustion chamber failure
      Friday Presentations of case study conclusions and critical issues
