The Sparks Research Group focuses primarily in materials informatics wherein we which leverage big data in materials science to accelerate new materials discovery. This TEDxSaltLakeCity gives a nice example of how materials informatics can accelerate materials discovery.

Our group also does quite a bit of experimental work with labs and tools set up to work on ceramics, batteries, fuel cells, thermoelectrics, and much more!
