Motif graphs vs pivot graphs
These seem to be generally doing the same thing. Both are aggregating information to help simplify the information.

Am I correct in saying that motif should be used when there are many repeating patterns (ie. connections) and pivot graphs should be used when there are many nodes with similar attributes. I believe this is the main difference between the two, otherwise they are basically doing the same thing. Anyone have anything to add?

RE: Motif graphs vs pivot graphs
Sorry about the late reply - yes, you are correct. They are both graph aggregation techniques; motif glyphs aggregate structure, while pivot graphs aggregate attributes.
